MaMa!

Now I bet you're wonderin' why they call it MaMa. A creature whose head is a heavy, hollow hood with no discernible feature of a face and whose bony structure can be heard creaking slowly through the woods with thick claws dragging along the rocky ground... Well! Despite her wicked claws, lack of face, and half-exposed skeletal system, the MaMa is a warrior turned guardian who protects the land and is considerably friendlier than she looks. She is also known to be very protective of stray seedlings, and that's why they call her MaMa. Little is known of her origin, and since she can't talk, there's not much you get from asking!
